K-Cycles Defined

K-Cycles is a custom build of Blender with highly optimized Cycles render engine. It's lighting fast! It's blazing speeds make post production nearly effortless. K-Cycles uses the same add-ons, extensions and configuration preferences as vanilla Blender making the two programs fully compatible. There's very little learning curve to manage. If you're good in Blender, you already know how to use K-Cycles. You just need to master the extra settings.

Why Use K-Cycles When I Have Blender?

This program was a mystery to me when I first started learning Blender. What’s the point of having two flavors of the exact same program? And then I used K-Cycles…and fell hopelessly in love with it. I’ve never looked back. That’s why I’m teaching it here. Buy it. If you value your time, just go ahead and pay. You’re gonna love it.

This program is FIRE!!!

K-Cycles is a souped-up, blazing fast customization of Blender. Blender has lots of settings you can change to speed it up substantially. But K-Cycles takes rendering to another level. If you set it right, you can not only exponentially increase the speed of your renders, you can also increase the quality of your renders. It’s not quite V-Ray quality (yet), but give it time. If you want photorealism, accept no substitute!

Being an open-source application means Blender can be customized by literally anybody. Yep…you can make your own personal Blender, and this company (K-Cycles) actually did it. K-Cycles is the result of one company’s effort to speed up the rendering process. They’ve taken Blender to warp speed. And now that I’ve used it, I won’t go back. I can’t. Nobody should be forced to give up render speeds like that!

Prerequisites
In this course, you will learn how anyone, from absolute beginner to seasoned professional, can learn the entire 3D pipeline...modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing, and video editing.

Basic info

While it's perfectly fine for you to learn Blender using the K-Cycles application, be prepared to be a little confused when you get to the rendering lessons. Blender's render interface looks different from what you'll find in K-Cycles. That's actually the point.

K-Cycles has lots more tools for creating the perfect render, each and every time. I strongly suggest that you LEARN BLENDER FIRST. Learn how rendering works in the original program. Get to know Blender first. Then you can tackle K-Cycles when you have a foundational understanding of rendering.

Course requirements

Basic 3D Concepts

Students must have fundamental 3D skills and understand how Blender works. It'll be helpful if you already have the following skills:

  • Rendering in Blender
  • Animating in Blender
  • Textures in Blender

Intended audience
  • Beginners and Hobbyists: Its free nature and vast library of online tutorials make it the ideal entry point for those wanting to explore 3D without financial commitment.
  • Independent Artists and Small Studios: Freelancers and small teams benefit from a unified pipeline that eliminates the need for multiple expensive software licenses.
  • 2D Artists and Storyboarders: The Grease Pencil tool allows artists to draw in a 3D environment, making it a unique choice for traditional 2D animation and storyboarding.
  • Game Developers: Blender is a standard for creating game assets (characters, environments, props) that integrate directly with engines like Unity and Unreal Engine.
  • Architects and Product Designers: It is widely used for creating realistic 3D visualizations, walkthroughs, and technical schematics.
  • VFX Professionals: Studios use Blender for motion tracking, compositing, and specialized effects in high-profile projects.
